BMA offers government the opportunity to end pay dispute with consultants

The British Medical Association (BMA) has written to the government asking them to meet alongside the conciliation service ACAS to resolve the pay dispute with consultants.

The British Medical Association (BMA) has written to the government asking them to meet alongside the conciliation service ACAS to resolve the pay dispute with consultants. The government says they will not reopen talks with the BMA until there are no further strike dates in place. Now, Dr Vishal Sharma, BMA consultants committee chair has told the Prime Minister consultants will halt all strike action for four weeks to give the government a chance to re-enter pay talks. Currently, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has refused to meet the BMA for 190 days. ACAS has indicated
