Could it be Heyde’s syndrome or just coincidental of common conditions?

Heyde’s syndrome is a syndrome of gastrointestinal bleeding from angiodysplasia in the presence of aortic stenosis. Iron deficiency anaemia and aortic stenosis are common in the elderly, but their association with angiodysplasia and bleeding is not generally recognised. 

  Learning points Heyde’s syndrome is now known to be gastrointestinal bleeding from angiodysplasia lesions. This is due to acquired Von Willebrand disease type IIA deficiency secondary to aortic stenosis. The diagnosis is made by confirming the presence of those three things. There is an association between severe aortic stenosis, bleeding from intestinal angiodysplasia and acquired Von Willebrand disease type IIA. Valve replacement offers long-term resolution of bleeding and anaemia.
