A national survey of more than 3,000 11-17-year-olds has found that more than half of those who have ever used a sunbed have been burnt at least once. The findings were presented at Public Health England’s annual National Cancer Intelligence Network Conference in Birmingham earlier this month. There are a much smaller number of under-18s using sunbeds with the Cancer Research UK-funded survey also revealing that, since the ban on young people’s using sunbeds less than 5% do so – down from 6.7% in 2009.
