The number of prevalent cases of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) will increase by 18.6% over the next decade, from 9.48 million in 2012 to 11.24 million in 2022, forecasts research and consulting firm GlobalData. According to the company’s latest report, the number of incident cases of AIS in the six major markets (US, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and UK) will also increase, jumping from 1.25 million cases in 2012 to 1.5 million in 2022.
