House of Lords votes for regulation publication of health and care workforce

The House of Lords have voted in support of an amendment to the Health and Care Bill that will require the government to publish regular health and care workforce projections.

The House of Lords have voted in support of an amendment to the Health and Care Bill that will require the government to publish regular health and care workforce projections. The peers voted for an amendment tabled by Baroness Cumberlege on workforce planning. It said that the Secretary of State must, at least once every two years, lay a report before Parliament describing the system in place for assessing and meeting the workforce needs of the health, social care and public health services in England. This report must include an independently verified assessment of health, social care and public health workforce
