Experts are urging governments and health leaders to do more to raise awareness of liver disease and to step up prevention efforts before it becomes Europe’s biggest health challenge. The news was announced at the world’s largest gathering on hepatology, at the EASL Congress in Vienna, Austria. Around 8,000 scientists, decision-makers, representatives of the industry and affected communities are attending the conference between the 21 and 24 June. There is an evolving crisis of chronic liver disease (CLD) in the UK, and it is the only major chronic disease which is on the rise. However, liver disease is often silent
