A new analysis predicts that nearly 10 million people will die from stroke every year by 2050, rising from just 6.6 million annual deaths in 2020. This is predicted to have a huge economic burden, particularly on low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), which are projected to hold 91% of stroke deaths by 2050.
