Stroke mimics: FAST positive patient diagnosed with highly aggressive diffuse large B cell lymphoma

This case study discusses a patient who was admitted to the stroke unit. The patient was found to be face, arm, speech test (FAST) positive and was referred to the TIA clinic. But after more tests were conducted, he was diagnosed with highly aggressive diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

But after more tests were conducted, he was diagnosed with highly aggressive diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Case history A 76-year-old gentleman was noted by his wife to have a sudden onset of confusion, slurred speech, reduced mobility (unsteadiness), forgetting words and difficulties in pronouncing names of family members. Episode continued for two hours, and the concerned wife called GP, who advised referral to TIA clinic immediately
